January Beginner Card Club


I'm introducing acetate in this class. If you've never heard of it, or stamped with it, you're clearly missing out on another really cool paper to craft with. The card I have posted here isn't quite finished....the final touches are somewhere in my mind. Or.....maybe they're in your mind. January Card Club


Have you ever wished you had a more beautiful view looking out your favorite window? Just stamp one!!!! Sometimes I get cabin fever, because it seems like I go to work in the dark, I leave work in the dark, you know what I mean? If I ever had to move to Alaska, I would need medication!!!! December Beginning Card club


Well ladies....this is another VERY clean and simple card that was a lot of fun. Makes me think of plum pudding-as there are lots of purples on it-although I've never tasted plum pudding in my life! HeeHee! Here's the extra things to bring to class if you have them:
About a 1" snowflake stamp (up to 1 1/2" would be OK, too)
Small stamp phrase (to fit the tag)

The dye inks I used were: Milled lavender, dusty concord (Distress inks)
Raspberry and purple twilight (Ranger)

December Card club




Hello again!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. My family was together, and I got to play with my niece and nephew-lots of scrapbooking material there, for sure! Anyway, this card is clearly a card about trees. I saw this patterned paper from SEI, and immediately thought "AHA!" I love it when a plan comes together! November Card Club

Graphic 45 Christmas Caboodle












































































































This Graphic 45 Christmas paper is wonderful! Love it! Had to make a caboodle of cards! Those of you who know me, know I get excited about paper.....sometimes it even talks to me (not out loud, of course!) and begs to be used on a paper project. When paper begs, I listen....I've finally stopped trying to resist...it's futile. At any rate, we're going to make 12 cards in this class, so that should help everyone get a good jump start on your Christmas card list this year...unless you're someone who is going to send out oodles of cards, then you can take the Christmas caboodle coming up in November, and get some more done!

September Beginning Card Club


Just fluttering by with another butterfly card.....I took pictures of it with a dark background and a light background (obviously....duh! Sorry guys!), and neither one of them shows the embossed blocks, or the butterfly very well. :( I've got to find a better way to get good pictures of the cards. Hmmm....maybe I'll have to experiment a little.
Anyway, here's the goodies to bring to class besides your basic crafting kit:
Scoring tool (score pal, or dry embossing stylus to use with paper trimmer)
Colored pencils, or watercolor pencils (aqua, purple, teal..Prismacolors 932,919,1027 OR Derwent watercolors 33,38,25)

July Card Club


Hello again! For July we are going to be doing a LOT of heat embossing.....Hot! Hot! Hot! Just like July normally is in Iowa, right? The pictured card is in yellow, but we're going to be working with RED, because poppies are red, and I didn't like them as much in the yellow! Did you know that red is my favorite color??!! It's right up there, with blues, purples, greens, turquoises, oranges, and yellows...Hee Hee! Anyway.....back to the class....here's what you'll need to bring with you (if you have it)besides your regular crafting kit:

May Beginner Card Club

Hello again! In April we learned about dye ink. Now its time to stamp with chalk inks. This is a very clean and simple card, but perfect for when you need something quick. Believe it or not, this really is a 10 minute card (or maybe even less!!!).
Here's what to bring to class (if you have it) besides your basic craft kit:
Chalk ink in yellow, turquoise, or brown and aqua colors.
Clear acrylic blocks (if needed)
Small phrase stamp (1-3 inch)
Branch/twig/tree stamp-not too compact, but a with little open space
Double stick foam pop dots
I realize a lot of you might not have any chalk inks, so don't worry if you don't!
